The District of 100 Mile House has unanimously approved the purchase of a new 2025 Dodge half-ton pickup truck.

At a special council meeting on Thursday, April 25 council awarded Regency Chrysler with the contract to supply them one half-ton extended cab truck. Regency Chrysler, who bid $65,000.41, beat out Sunrise Ford, who had bid $66,625, and Metro Motors, who had bid $69,979.88. (The bids include GST and PST.)

Todd Conway, the Director of Community Services, remarked that the purchase is needed for transportation reasons.

“The 1500 truck is to replace an older truck that is now going to be taken out of commission and replaced.”

In addition, a contract for a mobile column lift has been awarded to ISN Canada.

The cost for the contract is around $93,179.52. ISN Canada, which is North America’s “premier automotive tool and equipment distributor”, was chosen over Babco because they, despite having a lower bid, were not selected as their product’s height “was not high enough to accommodate all equipment” according to the District’s website.

The need for a mobile column lift came after council approved $100,000 for a new shop door at the Public Works building, but found out that the height of the door would not have been high enough to accommodate all equipment.

Finally, council unanimously adopted the 2024 Tax Rates bylaw, which was read three times at the April 23 Council meeting.
